All parents of children at Cheddington School are members of our Parent Teacher Association. We have a committee of at least 10 parents who take the lead in organising fundraising events and schemes throughout the year, but we are very fortunate in having the support of many other people who help us raise money for our school in a wide variety of ways. Our aim is to raise as much money as possible, and to this end we mix regular events with one-off schemes. We are constantly examining new ways of fundraising and try to involve as many parents, friends and children of the school as possible. Our Fun Day and Family Barbecue are usually well supported, as are the Christmas discos and raffles. Recently, we have raised money by running Comedy Nights, a Murder Mystery evening and a toy & book fair. We run the school uniform shop twice each term, selling a variety of uniform items including sweatshirts, the new reversible fleece, PE kit and book bags. The PTA also supports the school in many other ways. We provide refreshments at various productions and sports days, and we are delighted to present our leavers each year with a dictionary as a memento of their time at Cheddington. We have a bouncy castle to lend out (for a donation - we do not provide insurance). We are big into recycling and raise money by recycling mobile phones, printer cartridges, aluminium cans & foil and clothes. We also collate all the supermarket voucher schemes, box top education and target stamps. The first Friday of every month is Hot Dog Day, when all children can order a hot dog lunch if they want to.
