At Cheddington school we offer an integrated skills based curriculum where appropriate to enable the children to consolidate their learning. All learning is appropriately differentiated to allow all children to access the curriculum.
Our formal curriculum content is planned based on Government recommendations. The teachers produce overview long term linked learning plans; medium term planning which details the specific topics and skills on a weekly basis; and individual lesson plans for observed lessons or those covered by HLTAs.
The time devoted to individual subject areas within the curriculum meets Government guidelines. This is reviewed annually to ensure the children receive a broad and balanced learning experience, with appropriate time to develop the core skills.
Our weekly Curriculum Enrichment sessions are an essential part of school life. They provide opportunities to enrich children's experiences beyond the curriculum and are a great way of developing children's social skills by enabling them to interact with different year groups across the school. Activities are matched to our staff's expertise and interests, and make the most of the resources we have in school.
"Both of our girls are flourishing at Cheddington School because they are happy and encouraged to be the best they can be. There is a friendly atmosphere in the school and all the children are valued and supported and cared for."
