Pupil Premium

"Every child I have come into contact with – whether they know who I am (whose parent I am) – or not, has smiled, or said hello, or held a door open, or helped carry things without being asked. Always a pleasure to come into school and proud to be a parent of a school that teaches proper values."

The Pupil Premium is allocated to children who are known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), Service Children and children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months. This will also include pupils eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years (known as the Ever 6 FSM measure). Since September 2012, we have been required to publish online information about how we have used the Premium.  This is to ensure that parents and others are made fully aware of the attainment of pupils covered by the Premium and the extra support that they receive.

It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium is spent, as they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils at their school. At our school we subsidise fully the cost of all educational visits including (residentials), music lessons if the child wishes to learn, and annual contributions towards Curriculum Enrichment costs. We employ a dedicated well qualified Learning Support Assistant (who also holds the Emotional Learning Support Assistant qualification) to deliver targeted programmes of learning and support. Any monies remaining are used for support within lessons.
