About The Governing Body

The Governing Body works in close partnership with the Headteacher and staff.  Whilst the Headteacher is responsible for the day to day running of the school, the governors are involved with such things as staffing, curriculum, school buildings and finance.  It ensures the school functions well and maintains the proper range of academic and social objectives. The Govenors act as a critical friend to the school, setting high expectations and monitoring the schools performance whilst supporting school development.

Membership of the Governing Body includes parents, teaching staff and representatives from the local community and the Local Authority.  The Governing Body meets at least once each term; in addition, there are sub-committees which meet more frequently.

ALL complaints should be addressed in the first instance to the Chair of Governors (via the school office). The Chair will arrange independent investigation of any such complaint.
