About The Governing Body

The Governing Board works in close partnership with the Headteacher and staff.  Whilst the Headteacher is responsible for the day to day running of the school, the Governors are involved with such things as staffing, curriculum, school buildings and finance.  It ensures the school functions well and maintains the proper range of academic and social objectives. The Governors act as the moral compass of the school and as a critical friend to the school, setting high expectations and monitoring the schools performance whilst supporting school development.

Membership of the Governing Board includes parents, teaching staff and representatives from the local community and the Local Authority.  The Governing Board meets at least once each term; in addition, there are sub-committees which meet more frequently.

Any complaints should be addressed in the first instance to the Chair of Governors (via the school office). The Chair will arrange independent investigation of any such complaint.
