Viking Visitor

13th June 2018
Today, Year 5 were visited by 'The History Man' and spent a day as Vikings. They have been studying this key cultural group in their history lessons and he really brought their learning to life. They found a hall full of replica Viking artefacts, from beds to swords. Pupils soon set about using these as evidence to put together a picture of life around twelve hundred years ago. Aided by a big map on the floor they discovered where the Vikings travelled to and how their influence can still be seen today.
"It was like History coming to life!" said Jack
"It was a really exciting way for the children to consolidate their Anglo-Saxon learning," said Mrs White.
